Working Group 3

WG3 — ODA Enabled

WG3 defines what it means for a device to be ODA Enabled — establishing the certification framework, setting the requirements that must be satisfied, and ensuring the ODA Enabled mark represents a consistent, reliable standard of Private Cellular Network readiness that enterprises and operators can trust.

Mandate

The Certification Authority for ODA

In practice, WG3 reviews device test results submitted by WG1, evaluates conformance against the applicable WG2 specification, and issues the ODA Enabled designation — making certified devices publicly verifiable in the ODA Device Registry.

Independent Review: WG3 independently evaluates WG1 test submissions to ensure device certifications are grounded in rigorous, reproducible methodology — not manufacturer self-reporting.

Badge Integrity: WG3 maintains the standards by which the ODA Enabled badge is issued, ensuring the designation carries lasting credibility for enterprises, operators, and device manufacturers.

Ecosystem Role

Process

How ODA Enabled Is Issued

Certification follows a structured four-step process from WG1 test submission through WG3 review and approval.

01
WG1 Test Results Submitted

WG1 completes device testing against a ratified WG2 specification and submits the full test report to WG3 for review.

02
WG3 Technical Review

WG3 reviews the submitted test results for completeness, methodology compliance, and conformance to the applicable specification.

03
Certification Vote

WG3 members vote to approve or defer the certification request. Approval requires consensus among participating WG3 members.

04
ODA Enabled Badge Issued

Upon approval, the device is listed in the ODA Device Registry and the manufacturer may display the ODA Enabled designation.
